Five Acres in Port Angeles

Hunt Road Home begins on five remarkable acres overlooking the Elwha River Valley in Port Angeles, Washington.

Surrounded by forest, mountain views, and the ever-changing light of the Olympic Peninsula, this is a place that feels different every time we visit. From the future homesite, the land opens toward the valley, with the Olympic Mountains beyond and, on especially clear days, a glimpse of the Strait of Juan de Fuca on the horizon.

The property stretches downhill to the river corridor, where a quiet patio overlooks the Elwha as it winds toward the sea. Sitting there, listening to the water below, it’s easy to understand why this valley has drawn people here for generations.

Many of the essentials were already in place when we found the property. Power and community water were available on site, a three-bedroom septic system had already been installed, and the geotechnical work was complete. Those improvements gave us the opportunity to focus less on preparing the land and more on imagining the home that would one day belong here.

But infrastructure wasn’t what convinced us.

It was the feeling.

Every visit ended the same way. As we drove back down Hunt Road and through the gate of our Peninsula mentors’ nearby property, we’d look at each other and smile. There was a quiet sense that we had found something we’d been searching for long before we knew where to look.

This is where we’ll build our home.
